Nautical-Inspired Home Decor Finds
Roundup: Totally Nautical
Graphic designer Katherine Rasmussen recently went shopping with The New York Times for nautical-inspired home items. Rasmussen's company, Reiter8, makes pillows, bags, and other products out of recycled sailcloth, and you can tell that the designer is a big fan of all things mellow and oceanic when she notes in the article that "Being at the beach or on the water is a time of leisure for most people[.]"
Since beach time is definitely a limited commodity this far into August, it's a good idea to stock up on that leisurely vibe by investing in a few seaworthy pieces for your home. I'd start with this Anthropologie Deep Sea Curtain ($200 to $270); I love its inky blues and classic look. It would be perfect in a beach house or any quirky lover-of-cephalopods' casa.
Not down with the octopodes? Check out some of my other finds below.
