Ikea's New Collection Is a Big Departure From Its Scandinavian Roots

Mar 28 2016 - 4:15am

Tropical prints, vivacious colors, and midcentury minimalism — these are a few of our favorite things! Ikea [1] has delivered, once again, with its Tillfalle limited-edition collection.

The team behind this collection spent time studying architecture in Sao Paulo [2], Brazil, for inspiration and it certainly shows. They were also influenced by Sao Paulo's lush vegetation and Brazil's affinity for dancing. Blending Brazilian flair with their classic Scandinavian designs, Ikea presents a colorful but still simple collection of tiles, textiles, and kitchenware. It's an undeniably fabulous combination and totally different from their February release [3].

These austere candlestick holders are fitting for any season (ranging from $15 to $50).

But these candlestick holders exude Spring ($3 each).

Here's all the accessories you need for a Spring soirée (coasters with holder are $10, coffee table is $120).

Plenty of new additions to your kitchenware (plates are $3 each, tea towels are $6 per pack).

Lampshades that are perfect for a low-cost room upgrade ($14-$25)!

These groovy woven rugs are some of our favorite pieces ($70).

This tiled jar is ideal for stylish kitchen storage ($8)!

We can't wait to serve Spring cocktails on this tambourine tray ($20).

The Tillfalle Stool is perfect for spare dining seats ($100).
