Does this ad make you want to buy sustainably harvested wood products? Currently showcased on buses all over San Francisco, the ads proclaim “Choose Your Wood Responsibly” or “Be Proud of Your Wood” and show a line of men apparently naked behind a large piece of wood. The ads are bringing attention to San Francisco's new eco-friendly building supply store, Ecohaus, which also has locations in Portland and Seattle.
In a press release, company CEO Rik Tokuno said, "The playful double-entendre of these ads engages a broad audience. [I]t suggests the importance of responsible forestry practices and makes the idea stick in their minds. This is the most talked-about awareness-building exercise the company has launched since it was founded in 1992."
Do these ads make you want to consider more eco building materials? Or do they turn you off?
