Open House: What's Your Perfect Bedroom?

Open House: What's Your Perfect Bedroom?

I stumbled across this gorgeous photo and thought, "Now that is the perfect bedroom." To have a swimming pool at the foot of my bed would be an absolute dream. I would definitely become "a morning person" if I could wake up and take a dip in warm water. Not to mention, the cool color scheme of this bedroom is soothing and sleep-inducing; I want to shut my eyes right here at my desk just looking at. But to each her own. What would your perfect bedroom be? A room with a mountain view? On a cliff overlooking an ocean? Share your ideas by commenting below!

My dream bedroom would have a stunning view that I can see from my floor to ceiling windows which also overlook a balcony. I would of course be living in a high-rise building.

wow this would be an amazing bedroom - but agree about the smell of chlorine what would be perfect would be if you lived in a hot enough climate and could have a pool right outside your bedroom through some doors on the terrace x i definitely agree though - i'd love to have enough money to have a pool and be able to take a morning swim, that would make me a morning person without doubt!!x

I love this room and it actually is from a hotel in greece called Mykonos Blu. I've actually stayed there and it is beautiful! it is in Mkyonos, Greece and is right on the water. I stayed in a "blu villa" and it was such a great experience. I love greece!

My dream bedroom has ivory walls, bamboo floors in a oak or mahogany shade; the house would be a sort-of Cape Cod style. The room would be have a vintage, refurbished dresser preferably wood, with new (or vintage) knobs added on in either brass or brass/crystal combination. The bed would hopefully also be refurbished (though with a new foam mattress) and be a four-post style. A storage bench would be placed at the end and have hand-woven throws laying across the top. The room would not be covered in knick-knacks however strategically placed books, old-time glass bottles/vases, hanging/leaning framed photos, woven baskets and soy candles. I would love a lamp from a converted lantern or a clear hand-blown glass base. Curtains would be layered; a lightly patterned sheer base curtain and the top layer a solid fabric from hemp or organic cotton (in a creme white.) And carpeted rooms are a huge no; I dislike carpets so much. A toxin-free naturally dyed rug is "okay" though. While the rooms basic items are of neutral shades, the color is splashed in at times with the decor items mentioned above. I want the room (or house) to be cape cod simplicity meets bohemian bungalow. Not cluttered or dull, casual with glam touches here and there. Also comfortable since I do not want to walk on eggshells trying not to smudge an item or afraid to sit in the couch due to overly luxe fabric. Can ya' tell I have thought about my dream home often?

It's probably an ozone pool, no chlorine, no smell. This type of pool is more prevalent in Europe. There are doors though so they probably just have the view at night rather than the close proximity of the pool.

mzlady? *lol* My first thought was the same plus I'm usually in a stupor haze in the mornings - I can definitely see myself tripping into the pool. If I get the luck of having a bedroom like this...a glass cover would be a definite must.

Wouldn't the room be hot, humid and smelly? No thanks. If I could afford an indoor pool, I would put it in a big room, all by itself. No need to have it at the foot of the bed.

As much as I enjoy lap swimming, in my opinion, this is NOT my idea of a perfect bedroom. An indoor pool reeks of chlorine. I would be unwilling (and incapable) of sleeping in that room. Yuck, the fumes.

I sure hope this owner doesn't suffer from sleep-walking...
