CasaSugar: I’ve watched artisans blow glass before, and always been fascinated by the process. What does it feel like to create a blown glass pendant or chandelier?
Paulo DeLima: I am usually concentrating to the point where I am not aware of much else, I am a perfectionist, and get lost in the precision and the details of the form I am working on. Physically it's demanding. Obviously it's hot.
Lisa Spinella: When I am assisting Paulo with a piece, I am running around a lot, bringing gathers of glass to him, taking heats on the glass while he is shaping it. It definitely keeps me in shape. Buff arms at least. There are many times when the glass gets too heavy. We have a strong assistant that also works with us.
