There are certain things to expect on every episode of HGTV's Fixer Upper: some crazy "before and afters," Chip Gaines's goofy sense of humor [1], Joanna's impressive ability to envision an entire home [2] before it's been renovated, and a whole lot of fun. Everything else is a wildcard — there's no predicting which house somebody will choose or how their home renovation will go! One thing we do know, though, is the emotional process of watching an episode of the fan-favorite home makeover show [3]. It's an emotional roller coaster of anxiety, hilarity, envy, and pure awe. If you're an HGTV addict who can't get enough of the Gaineses [4] and their company, Magnolia Homes, then you've almost definitely had these same reactions to Fixer Upper.

"I hope that I find an a-dorkable love like Chip and Joanna's someday."

"Is it possible to cover my entire house in shiplap?"

"No, wait — subway tile. Definitely subway tile."

"I should just pack up and move to Waco to go on the show — wait, it looks crazy hot there. Is it worth it?"

"Oh god, think of the bugs! But for a Magnolia Homes remodel, I'd do pretty much anything."

"How does Jo always take a disaster zone and turn it into a magazine spread? It's not fair!"

"I wonder if Chip is actually this crazy and hilarious in real life?"

" . . . Yeah, he must be."

"Yup. He definitely is."

"I wonder if Chip and Joanna would adopt me."

"On second thought, I could just live at Magnolia Homes. Hope they don't mind!"
