Valentine's Day Modern and Economical Table Setting

A Modern Valentine's Day Table Setting For Two

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member CourtneyOutLoud from the Lovely Little Vignettes group:

I have an issue with Valentine's Day.  Well not an issue with the actual holiday, but with the colors associated with the holiday.  I find the traditional color combo of red, white and pink is hard to work with.  First, I think the color combo doesn't read well in most homes today because it comes off a bit "costume-like."  Second, the color red isn't that complementary to most foods.

I found my inspiration in a steno pad and a chocolate bar (hey — I love chocolate and note taking!) and settled on a color palette of amber, soft pinks, and chocolate brown.  What I ended up with is a table setting for two that is intimate and warm with decidedly modern feminine touches . . .

As per my rule, most of the table comes from discount stores (Ross, T.J. Maxx, Dollar Store) or resale shops. For more information on how the table was put together, the materials used and where to get them as well as additional pictures of the tablescape, check out the full posting on my blog Courtney Out Loud.
