CS: What have been some of your favorite things about opening Rummage? What do you really love about the experience?
KP: I feel like it's almost like having your own home, but on display. Everything in there is so personal to me, and the curating part of it is so much fun. When I go in there, I can't stop messing with things; tinkering with this and fluffing that. I just get no work done when I'm there. I love having people come in and really appreciate that; I don't think I've ever had someone walk in and think, Oh, this is not good, and walk out. Literally 90 percent of the people that come in say, "We love this space; it's so magical, I get such a good feeling in here." It’s so nice to hear that people appreciate what you do.
When you take photographs of a project, it's different if they can appreciate it. It's another thing standing in the space versus seeing the photos, so that's been really satisfying to me. It's like, Oh, people really do like what I do.
