I have had veggie and flower gardens in the past. This year's flower garden was a bust. I have no time to deal with it. Hopefully soon I'll have a huge area to garden in.

Mom has the greenthumb...and the garden. So, when I need my theraputic fix of gardening, I head straight to her house!

The killing kind. Ha ha ha. Oh, I am so bad at keeping plants alive. I've got some chili peppers, flowers and little bushes holding on.

I have a flower bed, but I plan on starting an herb and veggie garden next year. Oooh, It would be great if CasaSugar did a post on indoor gardening.

I've got a green thumb. Even in my apt. I'd have a balcony full of plants. It's a bit of an addiction, but a good one! :)

Nope no gardening for me - I don't like bugs and I get hayfever!

I would love to garden... but I live in an apt. As soon as I get a house I would love a combination of 1, 2, & 3.

If only I had a garden at my own place. But, where I am at the moment, we have a combination of 1, 2 & 3. Quite lovely, and fascinating to see things grow.

My boyfriend has the green thumb, but I just follow his instructions and everything usually turns out okay. :)

i'd like to start, but it's hard when a) i live in an apartment complex without a community garden area or a balcony to put potted plants, and b) i have a black thumb.

I am a frustrated gardener. We purchased a home with a big back yard and I have dreams of filling it with trees, veggies and flowers. Trouble is that we spent all on the home and now have nothing left over for the yard. I do have tomato plants and herbs in pots and friends have given me some things from their yards, but we have ugly river rock with rail road ties up front and I long to plant but lack of money (and drought) stop me dead in my tracks. lily314, you can do a small container garden in an apartment, even without a yard or balcony. I have done it successfully and it is very gratifying.

I don't have a garden yet, but I do grow things in pots. I've got 5 lemon trees on the go, some lavender, and I'd like to get some orange and lime trees going.

Like vienvien, it's my Mom that has the greenthumb. But she came to visit and we planted lots of flowers. Of course living in the south and on what feels like a huge clay bed, I'm having to water every day to just keep them alive! It's frustrating but they are growing.

I don't have a greenthumb but my mom does. I grew up with a house surrounded by lawns of lush Bermuda grass with an orchid garden ---walingwaling, dendobrium, cattleya, etc., and a rose garden filled with a variety of roses . And at the backyard is a vegetable garden with beans, yams, tomatoes, cabbages, lettuce and ginger. Such a beautiful childhood memory
