Which Designer Christmas Tree Do You Prefer?

As part of the annual "Les Sapins de Noël des Créateurs" charity auction to benefit the Sol En Si charity organization, which helps children and families living with AIDS in Paris, last week the fashion elite gathered to bid on 44 Christmas trees designed by some of the most prominent names in fashion.
Zaha Hadid's white column Christmas tree (left) was the top seller, bringing in about $66,000. The blue and white threaded tree (right) was designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier. Which do you prefer?

Blue and White? Doesn't that make it a Hannukah Bush? And DNA is NOT Christmas.

Meh. I went with the double helix because the design appeals to me but I'm on board with everyone else.. these things are not Christmas trees.

Neither. Those aren't Christmas trees, they're just modern art.

I would've also preferred a "neither" choice. Neither one of them conveys "christmas" to me.

Well, the Zaha's reminds me of a stand of DNA...or the biological tie to Adam (who, by sin, broke the bond with God). Doesn't speak the meaning of Christmas to me. The Jean-Paul's speaks more of the Christmas tree to me because the three triangles represent (to me) the Trinity. Father, son and holy spirit...and the ties that bind them to the foundation (the world). So... I like the Jean Paul Gaultier's more than the Zaha's. :)

Can I choose neither? At least Gaultier's looks like a tree, but in terms of art, I like Hadid's free-form design. I'll stick with pine, thanks.

How is Zaha's even a tree? over hyped modern designs aren't cool for the holidays... its all about traditions!
