Throw a Winter Wedding — Minus the Christmas Kitsch
When you hear "Christmas wedding," your mind might jump to the itchy fur muffs that your sister forced you to wear at her December gala . . . but this cozy cabin-themed affair will totally change your mind about all of that. When Jenna Miles Coleman (of JLeslie Wedding Decor) and Marianne Brown (of Marianne Lucille Photography) set out to style the perfect Winter wedding, they steered clear of cheesy Santa decor and a garishly red and green color scheme. Instead, their creation was warm, inviting, and woodsy — a combination that would please any decor enthusiast.
Held in a classic railroad museum, the wedding featured rich textures and a touch of the outdoors to make the setting extraspecial. The unique trinkets and antique items in the museum complemented personal touches for the bride and groom, conveying happy holiday feelings without straying into the realm of tawdry Christmas decor. "We wanted to bring elements of the outside indoors to create a feeling like you're snuggled in at a cabin in the woods with a fire roaring nearby," Marianne says of the shoot, and that's exactly what they did.
If you're striving to pull off the perfect holiday wedding or simply love entertaining during wintertime, the takeaways from this perfectly styled affair will be your new best friend. Some of the decor elements can even be re-created in the home all year round! Read on for our favorite aspects of this cozy cabin-wedding shoot.
