Would You Ever Garden in a Bathtub?

I have to admit, I'm a fan of the bathtub flower or vegetable garden — as long as it's done tastefully. I've seen beautifully planted clawfoot tubs that look elegant in the right garden, but I've also seen bathtub planters that look haphazard and tacky. It's all a matter of keeping it pretty, tasteful, and presentable.

You have to be so careful with that sort of thing. The backdrop has to be very green and leafy. Please to not be putting a bathtub in front of vinyl siding!

I think it looks both whimsical and beautiful, I'd totally do it sometime later in life.

In theory it's a good idea but drainage would be a problem. I know this because I tried to garden in an old china belfast sink and all it would grow is moss.

Of course! I would love to do this. In fact, my neighbor bought an antique bed frame and turned it into a garden. Its beautiful! I'll have to post a picture of it soon.

When I was younger my grandmother has a bathtub, sink and toilet with flowers in them on her front yard. I thought it was awesome when I was 7 but now I can see why my mom cringed everytime we pulled in.
