Would You Paint Your Walls Black?

Even though I think the results in the home pictured here are stunning, I'm still hesitant to put something this dark on my walls. What about you?

I love black walls. Currently my bedroom walls are a soft olive green and I'm getting bored of the color. I want something more dramatic. I am still debating whether or not I want to paint a black accent wall or go nuts and paint all black. I'm just worried that all the black will "shrink" my fairly large bedroom. Anyone have any suggestions ?

I would depending on the room.

if the room was big and had a few windows (good light) then yeah but you'd probably have to paint it every year because i bet it would fade

I think it is stunning in this room, but to do it at home I think you would need a really big window in the room to lighten it up.

Glossy black for an accent wall, with a striking piece of art, maybe. Not so much matte black: it kind of says Emo Kid to me. But then, my dining room is Moroccan Red with a gold glittery topcoat, so maybe I'm not the person you want to ask.

I don't think I could at all. MY dining room walls are a very dark blue. December Eve is the color and I absolute love the color. I get a lot of compliments on it and people always say it was a bold choice. But I found it very hard to find wall decor for that room!

My best friend did it in his kitchen and it looks awesome. The cabinets are white and all his appliances are silver. I love the look.

I'd do a dark gray but maybe not black. I'm not positive though.

I would do it if I had that HUGE mirror to open up the space more!

I painted the guest bathroom in my old house black. It had a khaki colored marble floor with matching sink and toilet and I did red accessories with an african/ animal was sooo cool. It sounds tacky but it really turned out very nice, everyone was always stunned at how open it looked.

No...I wouldn't. It's just too dark for me! I'll stick witht the lovely colour we have right now :P

I like dark burgundys or dark greens for a dramatic look in my bungalow, but I think that black is just too dense.

yes I would. My bedroom is a dark charcoal.

my friend painted her guest bedroom black, and it looks SO cool! i think it helps that she has a high ceiling and big windows, and the curtains are kind of a sheer cream color. The bedding is white, so it looks really neat.

I would do just one wall. I agree with Rosadilia's idea.

I would do it in my living room. I would paint one wall glossy black and hang one large piece of art to make it stand out.
