It's fallen to my husband to keep the lucky bamboo from my bridal shower alive... I have a black thumb I guess

I have tons of plants in my house. As long as I remember to water and fertilize them every week, they seem to do ok. I just added quite a few to my outside patio as well. Outside plants seem to need much more care, so I'm really trying not to kill them.

My first attempt with houseplants were violets. OMG! They all died! I felt awful. I tried not to overwater them but apparently I wasn't watering them enough. Now I have a 'prayer plant' (can't remember the real name of it) and so far so good ::knock on wood::.

I used to have the greenest thumb and as of late I cannot keep them alive. As such, I now have fake plants -- don't want to kill anymore of them. Love the green.

I'm not a house plant kind of girl. Too I have cats and you have to be careful.

Plants hate me. I look at them and they just start to wilt... :(

i love house plants! and unfortunately, so does my cat...so i always end up with a bunch of scraggly, chewed up, sad looking little plants.

I LOVE my house plants and would have many, many more if I had more space and better lighting (my house is dark and I dream of sky lights). Having plants around me makes me happy!

I definitely fall into the category of over watering and then underwatering. Do the same with fertilization. I think I've killed at least 4 orchid plants in the last few months. But I love them so much - they are so pretty!

Well, I have left one plant to take care of itself for a month now so that one is probably not feeling too well. Usually I'm quite good, though.

You guys saw pictures of my outdoor garden...what do you think? Yes...I have tons. I talk to them too! I get very sad when one of them dies.

Ever since I moved, I have been experiencing issues with keeping my houseplants alive. My loft is big and airy, which should be ideal. But, A/C and heat, extreme sun and chilly winters create changing plant environments. I'm still learning what works where.

I almost got some today as an impulse buy at Ikea... but then I remember how many house plants I have neglected over the years and decided to let the poor Ikea ones have a better shot at life.

I love having plants, I feel so at home when I've got geraniums and flower pots everywhere. I even have a herbal window box hanging outside my kitchen window. It's great for grabbing fresh herbs to cook with!
