We own (and our house has depreciated about 20K in the last two years UGH) and have no plans to go anywhere for at least a few years. We love our house, but this is definitely not our forever home.

I'm a renter too but I always look at listings periodically. Just yesterday, I found a beautiful townhouse near where I live that originally sold for more than $250k and is now being sold for $95k. It's crazy! But I don't think I'm quite ready to buy just yet. Renting has given me the flexibility to live in different neighborhoods to see how I like them. (Case in point: the neighborhood I'm in now was outwardly beautiful but the HOA is a nightmare to deal with and all the empty houses have been flooded with the worst kind of college students!)
