As a home editor I get to test a lot of different products [1], and most recently I've become an accidental pillow expert [2]. I'm picky about what I like, because I'm both a back and side sleeper [3], and I prefer more flat silhouettes, but still with a plush and fluffy feel. As you can guess, this isn't easy to find. Since I like flatter and more fluffy options, I almost always use the softer side. When I'm lying on stomach I'm even able to wrap my arms up into the middle of the pillow, which is honestly, really cozy. Here's where it gets interesting though. My favorite thing to do with it is actually unzip it. After unzipping it from one side, I have one super large pillow. One with a soft and firmer side, but a much flatter version. I can't emphasize enough how much I love sleeping with it like this. The clever design makes it easy to move around in the night and always feel comfortable and supported.
My only question at first, though, was how do I find a pillowcase that fits this pillow when it's unzipped? Then the brand informed me that I don't need one! The cotton cover makes it machine washable, which at first sounded odd, but I actually now think it's so smart. Once a week, I wash and dry it, and every single time it comes out feeling fresh, plush, and like brand new. All in all, I can easily say I'm kind of obsessed with this pillow.
