If what Gina Rodriguez wanted when she dyed her dark brown hair a honey shade of blond was for everyone to do a double take, she has succeeded. The Jane the Virgin actress was almost unrecognizable as she stepped out for a Verizon event in Los Angeles, sporting a short ombré bob with platinum ends.

Gina, who at the beginning of the Summer cut her luscious wavy hair [1] and buzzed the side of her head [2] for her role in Annihilation, colored her strands just a few weeks ago, premiering her new look [3] in an Instagram post captioned: "I mean I did have fun as a brunette . . ."

But even though we got that original peek at her strands, followed by a few more Instagram photos of her look [4], we truly wondered if our eyes were failing us when we saw her new hair paired with bronze goddess skin in an all-black off-the-shoulder ensemble.
