Alessia Cara Sings in Spanish With Juanes, and It’s Making Us Feel Like the Heart-Eye Emoji!

Nothing feels better than when two artists with different backgrounds team up to create magic. Juanes, the all-time leading Latin Grammy winner, and Alessia Cara, best new artist Grammy winner [1] joined forces again, but this time in Spanish, to create a beautiful, acoustic, contemporary pop ballad that sounds like a warm summer night with your loved one, on a mountain, overlooking the city while the sun sets.

"Querer Mejor" is the latest single from Juanes's next highly anticipated album. It's a song that captures the commitment two souls have made to a once-in-a-lifetime love, while talking about how uplifting love is, regardless of other circumstances. It acknowledges that we're constantly learning, and that maybe, when we're older, we'll know how to "love better."

This marks the first time that Alessia [3] sings in Spanish, and we're swooning over it! "Working with Juanes and being invited into his world has genuinely been such an honor," Alessia said in a statement. "I've always loved Latin music, so getting to dabble in that realm with such a legend is pretty amazing . . . and getting his stamp of approval on my Spanish pronunciation wasn't so bad either."

Meanwhile, Juanes had the sweetest words about working with Alessia. "Recording with Alessia has been a real pleasure. The joy she finds in music is contagious, and brought even more of a connection in how well our voices naturally fit together on this soulful and uplifting song," he said in a statement. "I am very proud to be the artist she chose to sing with in Spanish for the first time."

We're really digging this whole vibe, and appreciate Logic for bringing them together on the bilingual version of his hit "1-800-273-8255," which they performed together at the Latin Grammy Awards. Both Juanes and Alessia are artists with purpose, and that makes their music even more relatable. "Querer Mejor" has a lot of soul, and you can tell they have great chemistry in the music video, directed by Aaron A and shot in Madrid.

Now, BRB, adding this song to our Summer playlist.
