J Balvin [1] is committed to bringing us as much entertainment as he can while we're social distancing, and his new video for "Gris," a song that stems from his critically acclaimed album Colores, has us tripping with surreal visuals.
In the video, we see Balvin slowly spiraling from a heartache. His negative thoughts then turn into pests such as scorpions, roaches, and snakes, followed by a fire, a flood, and ultimately an earthquake that seemingly tears his world apart, leading to finally finding much-needed peace.
The video is the fifth Colin Tilley-directed visual from the album, following "Rojo," "Morado," "Amarillo," and the No. 1 hit, "Blanco."
"Gris" comes in anticipation of J Balvin's appearance on Global Citizen and the World Health Organization's global televised and streamed special, One World: Together at Home, in celebration and support of healthcare workers around the world.
This event, hosted by Jimmy Fallon [4], Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert [5], and curated in collaboration with Lady Gaga [6], will take place on Saturday, April 18, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, and will air on ABC, NBC, CBS, iHeart Media, and Bell Media in Canada.
J Balvin will be one of two Latinos — the other one being Maluma — to appear in the special, and we'll be looking out for all the incredible ways they're going to be representing la cultura.
