Romeo Santos Finally Got the Documentary Treatment, and Here's the Trailer

Romeo Santos, el Rey de la Bachata, is getting a documentary [1]. The American singer of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent just released the trailer for Romeo Santos: King of Bachata, the first movie centered around his life and career, from his childhood in the Bronx to his rise to Latin music superstardom [2]. The film also follows fellow Dominican The Kid Mero as he traces the history and influence of Bachata in the Dominican Republic. Also, do not miss the VIP guest appearances from Cardi B, Daddy Yankee, and many more Latinx artists influenced by his music. Santos will also star in a concert film released in tandem with the documentary, Romeo Santos: Utopia Live from MetLife Stadium, documenting his performance at the New Jersey venue.

"These films have been such a special project for me, and I'm honored and eager to show it to the world and pull back the curtain on the history of Bachata," Santos said in a press release. "For the film to showcase my upbringing and build up to my performance at MetLife Stadium, where I became the first Latin artist to sell out the venue, it gives me an opportunity to relive one of the most incredible nights of my life while also bringing it inside the homes of my fans across the world."

Romeo Santos: King of Bachata and Romeo Santos: Utopia Live from MetLife Stadium are set to be released on June 25 on pay-per-view. Watch the trailer above!
