Disney's Elena of Avalor, Featuring the First Latina Princess, Officially Has a Premiere Date
Disney's first-ever Latina princess, Elena of Avalor, is coming to a TV screen near you — soon.
The groundbreaking addition to a long line of iconic royal characters, Elena has her own Disney Channel show, aptly titled Elena of Avalor, set to makes its US debut during an hour-long event on July 22 at 7 p.m. EDT.
With gorgeous costumes, exciting storylines, and a cast featuring some of Hollywood's most notable Hispanic talent, let's just say it's bound to be good. Actress Aimee Carrero, whom you may remember from Young & Hungry, is the voice behind adventurous Elena (and her empowering anthem, "My Time"), but you can expect to hear a slew of other recognizable voices, including Ana Ortiz, Constance Marie, Jaime Camil, Jenna Ortega as Elena's little sister, and even Tyler Posey.
If those names don't make you excited for your new favorite animated show, we don't know what will — well, OK, maybe the fact that, on July 1, verified Disney App and Disney VOD users will get the chance to stream the first episode in advance. Is it July yet?
