Norma Pattavina, the 89-year-old woman who moved in with her neighbor [3], 31-year-old Chris Salvatore, has passed away. She had been battling cancer after an extended stay at the hospital.
"Perhaps Norma's lasting legacy is that her story helped the world to see the true meaning of love," Chris said in an Instagram post. "Norma reminded me that we all are created to love and all desire to be loved."
The pair met four years ago in the Hollywood apartment complex they both lived in and instantly became friends. She offered for him to come in for a glass of Champagne and they hit it off right then and there. After Norma's hospital stay, Chris raised money for her through a GoFundMe account so that she could have 24-hour care and live with him. Norma considered Chris to be the grandson she never had.
