Anne Hathaway on Flash Photo Scandal

Anne Hathaway Addresses "Wardrobe Malfunction" With Class

Anne Hathaway has been garnering a lot of award buzz for her performance in the upcoming musical-turned-movie Les Misérables, but she had to address some unwanted attention on Today this morning regarding Monday's "wardrobe malfunction." Anne had a compromising photo taken of herself — minus underwear — getting out of her car at the New York premiere of the film, but she had a very classy response when Matt Lauer began his interview with "seen a lot of you lately." The actress called the incident "sad," adding, "I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment, and rather than delete it and do the decent thing, sells it. And I'm sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies the sexuality of unwilling participants." Watch the interview now, and let us know in the comments what you think of Anne's response.

People really need to look at the picture; Anne was really exposing her self just for the titallation. Regards to the way her dress is folded so that it exposes. At all red carpets there are the camera people crowding the celebs as they dismount from the vehicles so that they can get that shot. Besides with that dress it was not the kind to drap and show a panty line, wrong material for that.

I really liked her response to Matt's somewhat insensitive question. I would actually take to task the press for publishing things like that. Incidentally, the tone that Matt used in responding to her I feel was a bit judgmental. I got the impression that he didn't expect an articulate response like that and weakly "Allowed" it. Kudo's to Anne.

That dress really did not lend itself to undergarments of any kind. The cut was too close, it would have showed and messed up the lighting on the folds. She isn't stupid, just picked a bad dress. Really it is not a big deal and it should be dropped. She is a wonderful actress and a wonderful person. Hopefully this will be forgotten soon.

Oh please. I would put money on the fact that 75% of the women on any given red carpet aren't wearing underwear because they can't risk showing any lines under their gowns. Comparing her to Lindsay Lohan -- a trainwreck who made this mistake over and over again, and usually in an intoxicated state -- isn't fair. She's a classy actress who made a dumb move that I guarantee she'll never make again.

Not acceptable! Who is she now? Lindsey Lohan? Take responsibility for your poor choices. She knew photographers were going to be there. She knew she didn't have on underwear. A nip slip while dancing is understandable. That's a wardrobe malfunction but this? Put on your underwear! Not wearing underwear to a premiere is not a classy decision.
