I have to agree with the people saying that #5 is untrue. Dia De Lost Muertos is simply not the same thing as Halloween just because it falls in the same time period.

Ouija update: It didn't work :( Although that might have been because we didn't have a planchette and used a shotglass instead. Maybe it was too heavy and non-slidey for the spirits to move :ROTFL: or they were disappointed it was empty!

whoopsies i guess i don't know as much about the holiday as i thought, but i think that it's nice to learn the history behind the day since most of us really don't know the backstory.

When I was younger my friends and I used to love playing with the Ouiji board and one night when me and my friend Eartha were "camping" out in my backyard (which was actually beside my house facing the street) we started playing with the Ouiji board. It was about 2am when we made "contact" with a spirit named Johnny. Johnny said he was 14 years old and died somewhere near our house way before we ever moved here. We, of course being the skeptical young ladies we were, asked him to come and meet us and he said he would come visit us when it stopped raining as it had just begun sprinkling outside. About an hour later it stopped raining so we got back in contact with Johnny and told him to come see us now and he said he would. At that moment we heard very faint footsteps from up the street. We looked out of the tent windows and saw someone walking towards us from the very beginning of the street about 10 houses away... this was odd seeing as it was about 3am, we are the last street on the road and we were the last house on the block. Not many people came this way in the day, nevermind at 3am. We could tell it was a guy, not too old but we couldnt see his face due to the dark. He kept walking closer and closer until finally he reached the grass of my house... and then turned and walked to his car in the parking lot beside my house and drove off. Turned out it was my neighbour's older brother, James, going to work. We had no idea he worked that late and barely anyone parked in the parking lot because everyone had driveways. It scared the living SH!T out of us and we never touched that stupid Ouiji board ever again. I think it was a sign to stop f*cking with the spirits... that memory still totally creeps me out.

oh man the ouija board stuff really creeps me out. I'm too chicken to have ever even played with it.

Sounds fun!! I wish I was going to a costume party. I guess I might have to go crash someone's party! If I'm in disguise who would know?! :witch: Or maybe I'd just be showing my true colors. jk

:ROTFL: I don't think it existed when I was that age either. And I must be older than you, because cell phones were not things kids had back then (except for Zack Morris, I guess).

Oooo I want to hear more Ouija board/scary stories!! I have a silly one- but when my friends and I were in 7th grade we played it on halloween and nothing really happened. My friend had to call her mom to pick her up but completely forgot her new cell number so "jokingly" we asked the spirits through the board and the number we got was that of an operator to help look up her number and it worked and she was able to contact her mother. haha it was so weird. I used to love that stuff when I was younger :)

Question 2 is worded extremely poorly. Perhaps the question you wanted to ask was "Halloween celebrated New Year's Eve for those who originated the celebration. T/F" Question 5 is simply untrue. Dia de los Muertos isn't a Halloween celebration. What a poorly researched and worded quiz.

Question 5 is kind of irrelavant. Dia de los Muertos is not Halloween. But yea, 2 out of 6.

Jude when I was about eight (yes I never forgot!) I was sitting in the front yard of my house leaning against a tree when I started to hear leaves crackling around me like someone was walking on them. I got so scared I ran into the house only to find out my sisters and brother were playing Ouija board in the back yard and had asked the spirit where it was and it said it was in the front yard. I don't think they ever played again.

oo question two was a bit confusing..I knew that they celebrated it as the New Year..but since it was not on the same day as our traditional new year I didnt think it was true :(

That just makes me more excited!

I dont know if it was a joke..but after we finished doing it we went into the kitchen to grab something to eat. We all went back in the room together and the board was on another was really strange. We thought one of us had gone back in there to move it! who knows! Two of the girls there said they saw ghosts that night..I never really saw anything! But the thought that I MIGHT scared me enough to NEVER try it again!
