Bride Whose Dad Died on Duty Shares Father-Daughter Dance With Officers

Sep 24 2015 - 4:45pm

Most girls envision walking down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams accompanied by her other main man — her father. Tragedy took that possibility away from bride Kristen Mundell, but that didn't stop her from having a beautiful wedding that her father attended in spirit. Kristen's father, Kent, was a sheriff's deputy in Pierce County, WA, and he was killed "in the line of duty six years ago while responding to a domestic violence call," Fox News reports [1].

So when it came time for the ceremony, Kent's fellow officers stood in for their fallen friend. Angela Lyons Photography [2] captured the beautiful wedding with the following moving images that are sure to break your heart and warm it at the same time.

Kristen made a gorgeous bride at her wedding in Bonney Lake, WA.

She wore a strapless gown that showed off her hero tattoo and "something blue" — a ribbon that represents the thin blue line.

She walked down the aisle with Detective Don Jones.

And she left a seat open for her father in the front row.

There was reportedly no plan for the father-daughter dance, so officers immediately stepped in.

It looked like a beautiful wedding day indeed.
