I find it interesting that the republican party is discredited, but still runs the congress, even though they are in the minority. Can't Speaker Pelosi do anything?

PS Huffington has her head in the clouds or somewhere that the sun doesn't shine if really believes that Hamas doesn't want Obama to win. Tourist friends just got back from the Middle East and all Arab Muslims say that Barack Hussein Obama Jr is an Arab and a Muslim. Even the Israelis say he is. If yo' family don't know, who would?

Iraq - If we're going to try to plant a military airbase there to protect us and other nations from China and Iran, so sorry guys, but we HAVE to plan to have a force of some kind in Iraq. Either that or just hand China the key to the front door. Huffington on Politics: Global warming is a fact, so she says. NOT. It's already been proven that the earth's temperature has LOWERED by half a degree in the past "whatever it was" years. So the Global Warming group is WRONG on that and WRONG on other issues. The "right" doesn't control the media. Only FoxNews does 'fair and balanced' and sometimes, not so balanced. Michelle Malkin's article just underscores how important it is for the USofA to have a military base in Iraq and Afghanistan. Don't you all get it yet? Razors in a muffin a college student found and then ate? Did his mother teach him not to accept muffins he didn't bake himself. I'd say he was one bite from the Darwin Awards.

I'd also love to see the media actually *report*. Too much of news is analysis and interpretation. Frankly, I find that insulting. Do they think I'm too stupid to figure it out if the just give me the data?

As Colbert said: "The truth has a well known liberal bias." ;-) Ok, just playing. I completely agree that the media needs to look at facts, not competing talking points.

"What would people do with the truth?" I am dying to find out! :)

Touche Jillness! What would people do with the truth? How would we react to actual FACTS instead of bias bs. But I think that bias is equally distributed to the right and left. Its whats in the middle .. the TRUTH ... that I would like to hear.

I liked that as well, Jillness. And I think this was a great summation of something I was talking about on another post today: "What is behind the media's lapdog devotion to the messages and framing of the Right? It's a combination of self-loathing and abject fear. The media wear their dread like a cheap aftershave. The broadcast networks and the cable news channels live in mortal fear of a dip in the ratings, and newspapers are constantly checking their pulse -- convinced by their deteriorating profits and market share that the end is near. So they continue to offer the views of the newly marooned Right more than equal time."

I like this point: "Let's take them one by one, starting with the media which remains hopelessly addicted to the false belief that in order to be fair and balanced every story needs to be given the "on the one hand... and on the other" treatment. But not every story has two sides -- and the truth is often to be found not in the middle but solidly on one side or the other." The media needs to start focusing on FACTS, not just representing the 2 "teams"!!

I think I'll be getting that Huffington book. The essay was very interesting.
