I actually like it. It's true. He's a media darling with minimal experience.

That is the great thing about ads that cross the line. They pay to air them around 12 times, but the news media on all sides runs them about 1,000 times. So they get seen, for free, in all of the states instead of just the few they actually paid for. Going negative has its perks.

And actually, I've only ever seen the two negative ads online.

Maybe it depends on what state you guys live in. I see at least one positive McCain ad in Virginia every day, and on networks, not on Fox News.

MCAlzheimer's forgot to check who contributes to his campaign...Opps, Paris' daddy gave him over $4K!!! He reminds me of "Old man yells at clouds" daily! He is running more addds focusing on Obama, yet what does he stand for. Waisting MILLIONS of dollars every day on Iraq.

Oh yeah GS. My bad.

I saw a positive Mac commercial on CNN once, but I've seen about half a dozen Obama bashing commercials. I've yet to see a Mac bashing commercial on TV.

I haven't either, but I'm told they're out there. Maybe if we watched Fox.

Why can't the GOP make an ad ABOUT John McPlain Vanilla? There must be something worthwhile about him that they could come up with. I have not seen an ad about HIM on tv so far.

This McGoofy ad makes me so sad and scared. Why must the GOP be like this? I am afraid that there are some Americans who watch that and think "yeah, that's right". Their brains are buzzing with Britney Spears and Obama and the confused result is that they won't vote for Obama because he is "famous".

But dave, you forget. My giant child growing in me is making me internally combust even in 70 degree a/c!! :prego:

GS, I thought someone as cool as you didn't need anything in 112 heat. ;)
Great-Sommelier Great-Sommelier 9 years
A bit off topic, but every time I hear about his electricity taxes I go through the roof. From April-October, the south pays enough for electricity. Just to live in this heat. If it gets even more expensive you will have people down here dropping like flies. Every August we have several deaths of poor people who didn't have A/C. This would compound that. Sorry for the rant. The heat index here tomorrow is 112. I'm just hot and cranky.

I think I've seen the positive one online, lil (not sure if it's the same one you're talking about, but a positive one, anyway), and believe me, those inspire a lot more respect from me than the negative ones. It just seems that it would be more productive all around for campaigns to push the positive aspects of their candidates rather than attacking their opponents. The thing about negative campaigns is that they turn elections into a "lesser of two evils" game.

There is actually a positive McCain ad that has been playing for some time, now. I guess positive ads just don't get the press. I don't think it's playing in every state, either, but I could be wrong. And believe me, McCain supporters don't have to be pressed to think of positives. In particular, I love what he has to say about education and school choice. I feel like neither of the candidates' education policies get much press, even though education is such a crucial issue. Anyway, all that being said, I do wish the McCain campaign would have more positive ads.

Exactly, steph.

I'm sure if they think hard enough, McCain's supporters can think of some pro-John selling points - people are going to get bored with Obama bashing no matter how they dress it up.

How many obviously negative and substance-free attack ads in a row is this now? Crap like this does nothing productive.
