Intimate moments with a bride at her wedding are extraordinary for all sorts of reasons, but nothing tops this: Greta Hokanson, who survived leukemia, shared a very special dance with the bone marrow donor who saved her life when she was just a teenager.
Diagnosed with cancer when she was 16, Greta was able to get in touch with a compatible donor, Danny Daniels, through the Be the Match bone marrow registry [1]. After undergoing the procedure, she met Danny, who's from Arkansas, in person a couple years later. It's only fitting that Greta wanted Danny to be present at her wedding ceremony in Sartell, MN.
"Before I met him, he was this amazing man who gave his bone marrow to me without knowing anything about me," Greta said to BuzzFeed [2]. "It was incredible seeing him standing right there in front of me."

The two danced to "Angels Among Us" by Alabama. "I fought back my own tears," photographer Stacy Milburn of Phodot Photography [3] told The Huffington Post [4]. "Throughout the reception the room was filled with friends, family, tears, smiles, and a tremendous amount of joy."
The ceremony was held on Oct. 10, when Greta married now-husband Tony Hokanson. "It was really an honor to meet him," Tony told HuffPost. "He's such a generous man, and it was great to get a chance to talk with him and get to know him better. Without him and the Be the Match foundation, there's a really good chance I wouldn't have Greta as my wife today."
