China Reports Pollution Progress, Experts Say Smog Still Seriously Dangerous China's Ministry of Environmental Protection announced Thursday as part of an annual report, that although some levels of pollution are falling, total levels of pollution in China's lakes, rivers and coastal waters are still on the rise as more pollutants continued to flow into them. The air in many Chinese cities remains severely polluted.
