Come Story Telling With Me!

Welcome to DearSugar's Come Story Telling With Me, where every Monday I am going to start the first sentence of a continuing story that you, the readers, will then finish. Do any of you remember the Choose Your Own Adventure stories? This feature is quite similar — and at the end of the week, I will post the completed story for you all to read, laugh at, and enjoy! Be sure to read the last comment and keep the story going from there. Feel free to be as imaginative and outlandish as you please, this is meant to be fun, so ladies, have at it!

Here we go:

"Honey, set the alarm for 6:30 tomorrow morning, I have to get my butt to the gym and work off all that pie. . . ."

"For you? I'll come by before the dinner party and get it right up." Gulp. At that moment my assistant stuck her head in my office door. "The meetings about to start." I thanked her with a smile and a nod. "Great. Well, see you then." I hung up as excited as I ever was when Steve and I were dating. God, I'm still so attracted to him, just the sound of his voice. Why did we ever I break up, I thought....

" Just a few months ago" Steve said. "oh" did that come out as deflated as I felt. I thought a second we have done nothing wrong, all we have done was talk on the phone. He was an interesting distraction from what had become a monotonous life. "OK well what about tomorrow, around 5, does that work?"

"Hello? Are you there?" Steve shouted. "Oh my gosh, sorry...uh...I saw something interesting in the paper..Anyway, can you be at my house say around 5 o clock? My husband will have just gotten home and he can help you (way to make it clear that I am married you idiot!)" "Yeah but I have a dinner party that I just have to go to you see, it's my fiances thing and if I dont show again, the wedding will really be off this time." My stomach just churned when I heard him say fiance. When the hell did he start dating let alone get engaged! All this time, here I am pondering the idea of him and I running off together and be blissfully happy. How stupid could I be? I am truley disgusted that I would even fathom the thought of all this. I am married, and well he's clearly a cheater and always a cheater. Poor girl, I wonder who she is. Do I know her? "Oh your fiance? When did this little bit of good news conjure?"

"I don't know," I said. "I can't think right now, I'm confused." So far, Steve and I hadn't technically done anything too wrong. We hadn't had sex, hadn't even kissed. I refused to, because I love my husband so much. But what we were doing may even be worse - we were having long, personal, emotional, and yes, fairly erotic conversations in secret. I couldn't help it. When I quit my job to be a stay-at-home mom, Ben picked up extra hours at work for some extra income, and I got lonely. I love my twins Kia and Eden, but I can only talk about Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go so much before I crave adult conversation. And although Steve and I had a lot of problems when we were dating, we definitely gave good talk! But to bring this to the next level? I couldn't say I wasn't tempted, but could I actually make love to another man when my family was so important to me?

...I entertained the idea of a mid-afternoon tryst at my house, but quickly erased the idea from my mind. It is too dangerous to take it to that level. "Don't be ridiculous," I quickly dismissed his advances. "This is purely business." He seemed a little taken off guard by my cold tone. I had to keep my eyes on the family portrait that sat on my desk to maintain my focus. "Listen," Steve said, "if this is getting to be too much for you just say so."

the phone rang. "Hello" "Hey, there." said the husky voice on the other end of the line. "Steve! I..umm...oh... Hi." "You, okay? You sound a little, I don't know, flustered?" "Oh it's just I was just thinking about calling you - our ceiling fan fell down and I was hoping you could come over and fix it." "Are you being serious or are you just trying to get me over to your place while the kids are at school?" God, his voice was sexy. I couldn't help but think...

the next morning at work, i sat on my desk flipping through my phonebook. "should i call him; should i not call him" i kept thinking back and forth. argh! i hate how the idea of steven coming to my house makes feel anxious and excited at the same time. as i was about to grab the phone to call steven, i saw a photo of ben, the children and myself next to the phone. the photo was taken in our recent trip to Mexico. my excitement suddenly turned to guilt. "i shouldn't do this," i quitely said to myself. i put the phone down and rested my head on my desk, when......

"Umm...sure honey." I gulped down what felt like a baseball in my throat. "I could call Steve for you," I said. "That would be great." He smiled. I didn't know what I was going to do. Would it be awkward with Steve and Ben here at the same time? Would Ben suspect anything? None of these thoughts have ever crossed my mind until now.

And yelled, "Ben? You okay?" "Fine," Ben yelled, "But come here and look at this." I followed his voice to the living room to see that our ceiling fan had fallen down and crushed the coffee table. "What a mess," I said. "Good thing nobody was hurt." "Isn't your ex-boyfriend Steve a contractor?" Ben asked. "I know you haven't talked to him in a few years, but we could call him to fix it." My stomach did a flip-flop. I loved that Ben was so secure and trusting that he wouldn't mind having my ex over to fix the ceiling. But what Ben didn't know was that I'd been seeing Steve a lot lately, a few times a month for the past year or two.

Ben finally decided to man up and go check what was the noice coming from downstairs, while I headed to the rooms of the children to make sure they were okay. I went inside Iris's room. She was asleep cuddling to her little teddy bear. I scanned the room with the lights on. I sighed in relief. I headed to Kia's room, when all of a sudden I heard a loud thump. "Did Ben fell?" I thought. Instead of heading to Kia's room, I ran downstair....

"You're right Dear. We both enjoyed ourselves a little too much." I smiled at him. "I'll wake up and go to the gym with you. We'll work out together!"

"Shut it. You ate just as much as I did, honey." I said as I reached over and turned out the lamp on the night stand.

As i waited to listen to the usual, "Okay, honey. But you really don't need to lose any weight", I looked at him making sure he was setting it for 6:30AM, not PM. To my surprise he just nodded and said "Yeah, you really liked that triple chocolate cake, huh?".
