The Curious Case of Forrest Gump/Benjamin Button

This is uncanny! I never saw Forrest Gump but I would like to think that if I had, I would have noticed the similarities almost identical elements between these two films! "From the writer who brought you Forrest Gump comes the touching story of a man-child told through flashbacks with a thick New Orleans voiceover . . ."

I watched BB yesterday and it was painfully looooong and cheeeeeesy! Ok, Forest Gump to but I don't remember that film being that long. Why do americans have to spoil it and poor viewers why do we have to suffer? What did we do to deserve this panishment??? Interesting plot of a love story but perhaps is would have been better if they made a serious on the telly out of it... Anyway some like it cheesy. Going back to reality and good acting can I recommend to watch a really sweet story by Woody Allen: Vicky, Cristina Barcelona....I know it's a different cake but much more human somehow... B

franky, find me another movie that has a voice over narrator, about a man from birth to death, who is from the south, was in a war, worked on a boat, met the love of his life when he was 7 but couldn't be with her until 20 years later... Sure, I could also say that plot is vaguely similar to Big Fish since they both feature storytelling but at least the stories they tell are completely different. Benjamin Button and Forrest Gump tells the exact same story!

Hmm I never noticed that and I just saw Benjamin Button last night (which i absolutely loved). Plots usually have the same storyline and they change the details. No biggie for me.

Giggle, how can you NOT have seen Forrest Gump?! It's, like, an American classic! I might have been 5 when the movie came out but that's no excuse to not have seen it. It's like never seeing Pretty Woman, Star Wars and the Breakfast Club! You would never survive living at my house! We crack Forrest Gump-isms all day!

Actually acknan the movie is NOTHING like the original short story, I beg you to read it, it will only take you an hour and it's really good. The ONLY thing that was the same was the basic plot about a man aging backwards. The movie is entirely different. So Forrest Gump is in no way a rip off of the story (as you will see when you read it which I hope you do! I highly recommend it)

Consider that Forrest Gump is actually a rip-off of Benjamin Button. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was wrtiten by F. Scott Fitzgerald and orignally published in 1921. Though similarities exist, the Story technically is "more" original...

No way giggle! there are so many awesome lines that come from Forrest Gump! You have never truly understood the line "run, forrest, run" or "Life is like a box of chocolates" until you watch it! Just because they have things in common doesnt mean they dont have completely different stories! I love Forrest Gump.

I know Fallen, isn't that crazy? Well, sounds like I saw one version of it the other night. That was enough! ;)

So glad someone finally made a video of what was in my head when I saw Benjamin Button. I seriously thought I was watching Forrest Gump again! And when I told someone that they responded with, "Well, I enjoyed Forrest Gump." I did too! But wasn't really interested in paying my $10 to see a movie I've already seen!
