You Might Break Up After a Romantic Vacation — Which Is Why You Should Take One

Dear Poll: Do You Dress Differently on Your Period?

There’s just nothing fun about being on your period. Not only is your body out of sorts, but emotions tend to flip flop, and the combination can leave you feeling down and out. Whenever my period week arrives, I pull out my looser jeans and my dark, fitted shirts, and if I’m hanging at home, I’ll even sport an oversized sweatshirt. When I dress to flatter my figure and emotions, I don’t feel nearly as self-conscious or bloated . Do you dress differently on your period, too?

It's yoga pants and tee shirts for me during my period. If I'm not feeling good, I don't bother to dress up at all.

yes, I look like a total bum for 2-3 days each month. I have my period jeans which are a bit loose and baggy and worn and I rarely throw in accessories for those days.

I do if I'm feeling really bad. I usually wear clothes that are comfy anyway and my tighter clothes still fit so I wear them.

I said no, but now that I've read the comments, I definitely have pairs of underwear I won't wear during. In terms of outer clothes, I really don't have enough clothes (especially suits for work) to dress differently.

It depends. But I usually wear what I normally do. If we're going out I may dress down a little more but not much. I never wear white though and I always wear black underwear or "period panties" as well.

haha i have "period panties" as well, plus i stick with dark colored bottoms-- paranoid about stains and such.

usually the first or second day i'll dress in something that's a bit more comfortable just b/c my flow is heavier and i usually have back aches. after those two days, though, i'm good to go!

my first day is always bad (like today, haha) I wear my normal clothes to work.. although opting for looser flowing shirts. but when i get home... its time for sweats!! even if i go out i think subconsciously i don't get as dressy/wear more comfortable outfits. oh, periods. blagh!!

No, I always lounge at home in comfy clothes... the only things I would avoid are maybe skirts and white pants which I don't usually wear anyway.

I have my "period panties" just older not-as-cute ones. Depending on the month I might wear bigger/looser pants.

cyan45... I love the "makeup that alleviates the zombie look". I completely understand.

Okay, it was supposed to say "so I dress as comfortably as possible".

The first two days are always bad for me - lots of bloating and cramps, so I wear as comfortably as possible (not sweat pants outside my apartment though ;-) ). Then the bloating suddenly goes away (today, yay :-) ) and I start feeling and dressing more sexy.

if bloated = dark jeans + loose blouse w/ belt (hides the bulge!), comfy flats w/ bling to make me feel glam (leopard print peeps from thrift store, yay!) non-visible-panty-line undies :) oh, and a fun accessory... makeup that alleviates the zombie look: mascara, blush, concealer/foundation, a little more dramatic lipstick, nice smelling lotion on my neck/hands. DIY mini pamper routine...(aside from the pampers in residence down under. literally!) princess week just started today :P

RoyalBlueMoss, I am so jealous! I have the looser clothes and I stay away from the lighter colors.

Maybe I'm weird but... I don't ever dress differently because my periods are nothing. They last no more than a day and I never get any bloating or cramps.

It usually depends on how I feel. If I have to go out, I'll dress normally, I guess. I'll spend the day in sweats at the house if I can get away with it, though :)

I always feel really blah and tired at that time of the month and my clothes definitely reflect that. Baggy hoodies and sweats for sure!

I just feel so unattractive during my period-and when I feel terrible like that I don't really feel like dressing up.

Only if I'm feeling particularly bad.

I usually don't put much effort at all into what I wear (jeans + tshirt = ready to roll), but even on period days I wear my bigger jeans and more comfy shirts... and don't wear light coloured underwear, because I swear that my Diva Cup only leaks when I'm wearing light undies, just to spite me. (It never seems to when they're black.)

I try my best to still dress nice even though I feel like total crap. I usually stay away from light colors, dresses/skirts, and actually high heels the first few days. I too have "special period" undies and I wear tights (the undies tights) in case I have to put a heating pad on.

Today was actually "the day" lol, and I wore my fav juicy sweats. I'm just a college student though, I can get away with sweats on bad days! I usually dress in regular clothes but today I wanted to be comfy, with cramps and all. :)
