Dear Poll: Do You Still Think About Your Ex-anniversary?

Whether we're still lusting for him or just hoping that he's doing well, it seems that many of us have our ex on the brain. I think once someone is such an important part of your life it's nearly impossible to let go completely, especially because so many reminders pop up here and there. For some it's the date of an old anniversary, which even if you're not celebrating it anymore, still happens once a year, every year. So ladies, when the date rolls around, does the anniversary that you used to celebrate with your ex ever enter your mind?

Definitely. I was in a 3 1/2 year relationship, so July 15 is a date I'll never forget because it was our anniversary. And we made a big deal out of them, we were one of those couples who made a note of every monthly anniversary (ie: today's our 2 year, 8 month anniversary!! - that specific) lol and interestingly enough, today is my 10 month anniversary with my boyfriend. :)

The only one I loved was always the second week of March. He was my best friend before he was my boyfriend, as if that justifies that somehow... But the big thing is birthdays- I always remember birthdays, even for the guys I didn't see for more than a few months. I used to request a certain song for him on his birthday (terribly sappy, but it was a Beastie Boys song) from an alternative station, but I stopped doing that a few years ago. I still think about him when it rolls around though, in spite of myself. Do guys go through this crap?

Anniversaries, birthdays, all kinds of stupid special dates, yeah. It sucks. I like to plan something fun to do on the particular day to get my mind off it.

wiciltd OMG! hahahaha how freaky! :P Every year when Valentine's Day rolls around.. I can't help think about my first love V-day was our first official date. I think a lot of people do that though, thinking about what they did with their ex's on a certain holiday?

Barely really remember anymore, havent thought about it in forever- I know one was my birthday- but that wasnt even actually our anniversary neither one of us could remember what it was so we picked that bc it was easy to remember. I think one was the 15th bc of an inside joke, actually I might have had two high school boyfriends with the anniversary on the 15th- couldnt tell you which month(and I might be wrong, I really cant remember). Togetherness anniversary with the hubby is the 15th as well, but wedding anniversay is the 17th. Only remember the birthdays of two ex bfs- on good terms with both of them

I DO remember the anniversaries I had with my two most serious I dated off and on for 4 years, the other I was with for 6 years straight. The dates are kind of etched in my brain unfortunately--August 20th and May 26th. Just one of those things that you can't help but think of when you see or hear what the date is.

I'm very good at remembering dates (old friends bdays, etc). If my guy and I ever broke up I would definitely remember the date (Sept 20 --- actually the date pictured in the post picture!! :) ) and I'd remember his birthday for sure too.

Yes, but I also remember random people's birthdays that I haven't spoken to in years. I just remember these things.

I never celebrated anniversaries with my ex... but I do remember the date and I guess I get a little nostalgic every year when the time rolls around.

If you asked me, I can tell you the date. But when that dates comes around, does it cross my mind that day?: I can honestly say I doesn't.

I have trouble remembering any dates, so I very rarely think about this kind of things. But every fall (when I've met most of my exes) I think about them at some point, and during december too.

I hated celebrating our "Anniversaries", because he would want to celebrate every month on the 14th. I tried to tell him that's not an anniversary...but whatever...maybe that's why I left him...LOL!

I said yes but actually it is not true for all ex (haven't had thousands but still). Just 2 or 3 very significant ones.

I usually remember birthdays, but only because a couple of my ex's are on facebook and it pops up that their b'day is coming up. Anniversary?? No way! I don't remember any of them....

I think I would if I was divorced, just because that would be a really significant date in my life. I don't remember dates of anniversaries for guys I've dated. I don't really get the point.

This is so weird cause my anniversary with my ex was yesterday! I liked celebrating the little milestones with my boyfriend though. Nothing elaborate or anything, just like a fun day to ourselves.

I agree with TidalWave, Anniversaries are for Married people, I never celebrated a boyfriend/girlfriend anniversary because its not necessary. When i hear women at work talking about getting a day off for thier anniversary, and they arent married, i want to vomit.
I do, but unconsciously. It's just a day to remind me of an old friend, and I'm like wow...I hope he's okay, not dead, etc.
