Dear Poll: Do You Think It's a Good Idea to Date Your Co-Star?

History repeats itself over and over again when it comes to actors dating their co-stars. The life-span of these relationships isn't very long, but it doesn't seem to stop the cycle. It's no wonder relationships blossom on set - most of the time actors are on location, away from the loved ones, leaving nothing but time to develop connections with their co-stars -- not to mention most of Hollywood is pretty easy on the eyes, but once the movie is wrapped, these relationships rarely make it for the long haul.

After reading about so many onset romances, do you think it's a good idea or a bad idea for actors to date their co-stars?

No-IMO-It is a bad idea-Sometimes it breaks up marriages-I've seen married(celeb) men&women leave their spouse 4 co-stars in movies-If both are single it still could cause problems-It all depends on the person-And yes marriage is suppose to be 4-ever.

Depends on how mature you both are, and descret because sometimes it causes a problem.

I agree with dguillenm. Sometimes the best actors and actresses have mentioned that they have to fall in love a little bit with their costar in order to play the part. That could be a little dangerous. But dating a costar, I imagine, is a lot like dating someone you work with if it's television. For movies, I would imagine it's more like going on a business trip with someone and dating after it's over, since filming never lasts more than a couple months. I think people in that industry relate better to those who understand their careers.

As long as you fall in love with the person and not the character they play.

Not every relationship is supposed to last forever, so why not date a costar or coworker? Understand from the beginning that you may have to suck it up though if things don't work out.

I think it's understandable dating co-stars because that's who they're with all day. I've met people at work and that's what's happening with them. It's even more intense on movie sets because everyone is thrown together, usually on location away from home. And just like there are people who can and can't handle an office relationship, I'm sure there are those who can and can't handle an on-set relationship.

yes. i think when you are in a field like this it's actually helpful to date someone who knows what you are dealing with. also being a professional athlete or a trama doctor, those professions where the typical person would not have similar experiences. there are things about acting that are unique to that profession.

i think that if they want to date they should wait untill the movie is over then date, that way if they break up they don't have to see each other all the time.

I think it is a good idea because then it is easier to act on set.

I'll let you know when I get a co-star.

i for one think dating people you work with is a terrible idea. it does seem like everyone who does a movie together ends up dating their co-star. i always thought they got too into the characters or something.

If there is a connection, why not? People do it in the workplace all the time. There have been people at my work who met, started dating, and are now married!

It's just not good politics in an office or on a movie set.

I honestly think it depends on if you will have to see this person everyday if you break up. Like being on a TV show is probably more difficult than doing just a movie once w/ them.
