The pocdisneys Tumblr [1] recently shared GIFs from a scene in Disney's 2000 short film John Henry [2] — and now we're hooked. The animated short was included in the Walt Disney Animation Studios Short Films Collection that came out in August (and is currently streaming on Netflix [3]). The story is based on a tall tale about the African-American folk hero John Henry, a freed slave with the "strength of 10 men" who beats a steam drill machine at tunneling through rock with his bare hands and two steel hammers. This GIF series is from a sweet scene in which John Henry's wife, Polly, challenges him to an arm-wrestling match . . . but she has a trick up her sleeve.
