Do Tell: What Do You Let Slip When in a Relationship?

When you first start dating someone, most women pay close attention to the details: legs are always shaven, eyebrows are perfectly plucked, and the best outfits are in full rotation. But just like everything else, the initial excitement dwindles, and for some, so does the desire to appear perfect. Keeping the fire alive is crucial in all relationships so it's important not to let yourself slip, but ladies, do tell, what do you let fall by the wayside when you're comfortably committed to someone?

My boyfriend likes that I don't wear make-up, likes my hair down, and he prefers me naked, so any article of clothing is considered "too much," unless we go out. I think he gets embarrassed when I go out looking frumpy (but only to walk a block over and buy a sandwich from Subway), but I do dress decently for classes and going over to visit him or going to a restaurant more than a quarter of a mile from my apartment. :D

I lived with my boyfriend since boarding school, and have never worn makeup or shaved (except armpits, for practical reasons), so I don't really let anything slip, because anything I do was for me initially. I don't really see the point in trying to attract others if they won't like me how I live normally.

Not combing my hair. But come to think of it, I usually never do anyway.

Since we live together, I've gotten used to stumbling around in the morning with bedhead and last night's smeared makeup. And he doesn't have to wear pants around the house. So we both win.

It's been a long time since I was single. I think the only real slips have been that I don't always put on makeup if we're staying in all day and I wear pajamas when watching tv at night. I still groom fastidiously and dress nicely.

Everything! Nah... I don't let anything slip. I start dressing more comfortably but that's fine since we live together. ;p

I got to know my guy at a county ultimate club, so he knows the no-makeup, sweat-covered (thank you MS humidity), shorts-and-baggy-t's side of me already, but I like to look nice when we go out.

I always try to look good. So when we get cozy I throw on one of his work shirts or something like that.

I like to keep well maintained now that I'm married, lady parts well trimmed, shaving at least to the thigh unless its a special occasion. I generally wear makeup when we go out and I dress nicely for him and when seeing friends and family.

I'm all about being comfortable with my husband. I love comfy sweats and would be pretty content living in them 24/7. I don't do my hair as often and I definitely don't wear a bra at all times. However, I do have a line and that line is shaving. I don't do it for him, either. I do it for me. I HATE being hairy, so it flat out does not happen. I shave every day. And if I'm really letting it slide, every other day. I'm kind of OCD about it.

In the wintertime, I'll let me legs get SO hairy that it's kind of embarrassing. And I never do my hair or makeup unless I leave the house. So I could go a whole lazy Sunday looking like total crap. But he doesn't care, so neither do I.

My hubby and I sometimes spend the whole day in PJ's, and I'll wear comfy tanks and short shorts around the house sometimes, but that's as far as I go. Hair is always done, always at least a little makeup, always smooth shaven.

i think after about 4-5 years of being married, i finally began to relax a little. began to understand that he loved me no matter what i looked like, no matter if my legs were hairy that day, or if wore my jammies the entire day. he's seen me at my worse when having kids, trust me, anything at home is nothing to us. lol

I do not shave my legs as much only because my legs get incredibly irritated by shavings (waxing hurts). So, that is about it.

I don't shave as much as I use to. Maybe once a week now. He doesn't trim though!! IT looks so bushy. lol. We have been together for a while though, so we don't care anymore.

I'm a really down to earth type person, it doesnt phase me. I'm often lazing around our house in my dressing gown or singlet tops, but I always make sure im super clean and eyebrows are plucked and my hair is done. I just think its gross if you have oily hair and things like that. And I like smelling like my perfume/body wash! LOL I think things change a bit when you live together...

Hahaha, all this stuff about pants is hilarious. My bf and I have this running joke about never being truly happy when wearing pants. We're comfortable enough around each other that I can wander around in a tank and briefs, it's nice. I have to admit, i let my leg-shaving slide. There's just so much ground to cover, I'd rather focus on the rest of the wayward hair that needs tending.

I usually like to keep my hair blow-dried because when I don't do it... it is BAD news. But other than that, I don't feel the need to be in make-up or dressed to the nines around my boyfriend. I actually rarely wear pants if I don't have to. :) He loves when we're just lounging around or when I'm wearing his clothes. I'm not embarassed about eating whenever and whatever I want around him (some girls are really weird about eating in front of their guys). I love that we're so comfortable around each other that I don't have to keep up appearances and impress him.

Ha ha, Rozenaut! My hubby also sheds the pants as soon as he's in the door! I like to call him "Captain Underpants"! I don't think I really let anything "slip" with him. I'm not in 100% makeup and perfect outfits all the time, but I like to look good for him, and for ME! He's great about it, too. Once a week for about 3 hours, I disappear into the bathroom for all the plucking, waxing, coloring etc. He knows what's going on, but it's my special "me" time. Since we've been married, most weekends at home are virtually makeup free and in cute, comfy yoga pants. He loves me equally "au naturel" as when I'm my stylin' self, but I prefer myself to be a little put-together.

I try not to let anything slip but my boyfriend doesn't care either way. He LOVES me for ME. :D
