Do Tell: What Do You Wish Your Significant Other Noticed More?

Do you spend an hour in the bathroom before your boyfriend takes you out only to have him not notice your new hair style or your new outfit? Do you wish he was more attentive when you have a bad day or just need him to tell you he loves you? If so, you're not alone. Even though some men are more attentive than others, for the most part they don't notice the small things that mean so much to us. So ladies, do tell, what do you wish your significant other paid more attention to?

I LOVE that my fiance doesn't seem to notice anything. He thinks I'm always perfect. He won't notice new makeup or clothes unless I tell him because this is all he sees: Damn, she's beautiful and perfect in every way. He tells me that all the time. I figured out why he never notices anything on my own. It should have been obvious by the way he always compliments me when I look like crap.

My boyfriend and I have been living together for over 2 years now. He still hugs me all the time and tells me he loves me but he NEVER notices any changes in my appearance, like when I'm wearing make-up or my hair differently. To him, I look the same way whether I'm wearing pyjamas or an evening dress.... and sometimes I try really hard to look especially good, and he just doesn't see the difference! So that's something I wish he noticed more often *sigh*

Something other than my boobs. He's freakin' obsessed with them, and while I appreciate that at least they're MY boobs and not someone else's, I think they draw too much attention away from my other assets that need attention too.

In general he's good. But I wish he'd notice more when I'm pretty, and LESS when I'm grungy. We got in a huge fight once because he thought I wasn't trying hard enough to look nice. He seems to think that it's so easy and cheap. I had to angrily explain to him that SOME of us are strapped for cash, and makeup and contact lenses and cute haircuts and Victora's Secret all cost money, money that, at the time, needed to be spent on things like ELECTRICITY. In the end, I grabbed his CC and went on a (minor) spree for makeup, an eyebrow wax, and a sexy new outfit. Not the most feminist of solutions, but it worked for both of us.

My guy is actally not too bad with this one... I mean if it's just my day-to-day look really I don't expect much. But when I need to look super nice for work one day or if I dress up for a ncie dinner or soemthing, he'll always tell me I look super sexy. Actually, I never even realized how much he did it until now :)

I wish that my long-time boyfriend would notice that I stopped wearing all my rings in hopes that he would notice my bare hands and decide to fill one very specific finger....get my drift? :)

My husband is and always full of compliments for me...he always tells me I look nice before I leave for work in the morning and when we're having "date night", he will also compliment the way I look. He always notices new clothes and jewelry too. He's been this way since I met him...on our first date, he told me that he couldn't believe he was on a date with a girl as "cute as me". I was like, was so sweet. I try to compliment him often too...boys like to hear nice things just as much as girls do!

I consider myself lucky. My boyfriend of 5 years gives me just the right amount of attention:-) He compliments me quite often, even when I feel really ordinary looking and it's such a good feeling. I compliment him too, from time to time. We also tell the ILY's quite often and we verbally appreciate when the other does something around the house or so...even small things like doing the dishes. It may sound ridiculous, but I think it's important to appreciate each other.

I wish he noticed more of the things I do to improve his life and notices less when I go shopping and spend money, haha. Seriously though, a "thank you" would be great once in a while since I cook him dinner every night, pack his lunch, do his laundry, basically did ALL his assignments throughout his medical school career, etc etc. I know he appreciates it deep down, but expressing that appreciation would be nice. Or, if he's not going to express it, then stop expressing displeasure every time I get a box from Sephora in the mail!

It annoys me so much that my boyfriend BARELY ever notices anything. I was shocked because a few days ago I wore a certain outfit and it was green and he loved it. It's the first time he ever complimented me on my clothes. Uh, his favorite color is green though so maybe that is why... I wish he would notice my makeup. I wish he would notice my nails that I spend so much time on! I wish he would notice how adorable my heels are I wish he would notice my decorating skills He notices if he does something and will talk about how great it is for hours, but if I do something in the room it's ignored It sort of annoys me sometimes.

Mine notices every time I get my hair cut/highlighted and if I'm wearing a new top. He fails to notice that I only have 50 some pairs of shoes and NEED more. :rotfl: Other than that, I wish he noticed how many tedious little things there are to do around the house and help more than just with dishes.

my boyfriend tells me I look pretty when I put eye shadow on and stuff like that (when I make my eyes pop out). Then he tells me that I shouldn't wear make up because I look pretty without it. Well he only tells me I look good when I wear that eyeliner and mascara and eye shadow lol so yeah. When I dress up and it is noticeable he tells me I look pretty. I wish he told me when I am in my pj's heh =)It is not a big deal for me if I don't hear every day that I look pretty from my boyfriend because I know he thinks I am pretty and it is ok that he tells me that every now and then =)

That is one of the best things about this relationship for me, we are constantly both complimenting each other and he always notices any changes I make. I make sure I always tell him how good he looks as well, I think that us ladies tend to get our feelings hurt for not being noticed but how often do we make the same mistake with our men? I consciously decided to make sure I don't slack on my side and I think it makes a huge difference from my last relationship.

... That sounds severely ungratefull, but it's how I was raised. I do love that he makes to effort to help me with things.

The bf notices pretty much most things which I love, but I wish he would take notice to when I am trying to be stubborn. He tries to be nice and help with like lifting things or fixing my car, but I can do stuff on my own (I am very independent). We end up with little heated conversations when he tries to hard to help me when I clearly don't want to be helped!

i have been with some clueless guys. my ex NEVER noticed the special details. my current boyfriend notices everything and compliments me regularly. i always know when it's coming because he'll just look at me with his big blue eyes...and i know something sweet will come spilling out of his mouth.

My BF notices and compliments my appearance all the time. I wish he would notice when I just need a little help more with the kids, or when could use a break away for a little bit.

I wish my bf would notice when I am upset or worried more often. And when he does notice, I wish he would talk about the problem with me right away or say something comforting. Sometimes I can tell that he knows something is wrong, but he won't say anything, its weird. He just keeps making small talk for hours, lol. It drives me crazy!!! I don't bring up the problem because sometimes I don't want to talk about it, but it would just be nice to know that he can actually tell the difference between a happy me and a sad me!

He notices, but not as much as i'd like. Girls like to hear that stuff more often than guys think. I love when he notices my hair being soft cuz it feels soo good when he plays with it!

I kinda wish he'd take a little more interest in what I do when I'm not around him. I never head a 'how was your day?' or 'how was this club meeting?' or 'how's the latest knitting project going?' and it annoys me to no end. Yes, I know he doesn't really care about knitting or the English club, but it would be nice if he asked what I was up to, especially since I sit through 2-hour Milton Friedman documentaries with him, and he knows I hate economics documentaries.

my bf notices eveyrthing physical (go figure) if i have a clogged pore or a small cut on my foot. i wish he would remember what was going on in my daily life a little more. he always forgets if i already made plans to do something with a friend, for example. just little things like that but really, i know he cares so its not a big deal!
