Do Tell: What Scares You the Most About Aging?

I am still relatively young, but growing old scares me to no end. I am in good health, but relying on others when I'm not is what makes me so uneasy and already almost guilty. I know I am not alone here, so do tell, if you had to name one thing that frightens you most about getting old, what would it be?

Im 19, but EVERYTHING about getting old gives me the eebie geebies. i work with little kids during the summer and coming back and seeing them getting older even makes me sad!! its pretty serious. its actually not the being OLD part that freaks me out. trust, we wont CARE then. i can't wait till its me and my hubby, basically just being old farts together, and baking cookies all day for my grandkids, etc.. but its getting there that kills. MY FIRST WRINKLE! MY FIRST GRAY HAIR!! SAGGY BOOOBBBSSS! oh gawd im scared! someone hold me =(

Having to rely on someone else to take care of me. Not being able to move as easily. Wrinkles. Dying. Dying scares me more than anything.

Alzheimer's, loss of vision, loss of hearing, shakiness, needing to use a cane or wheelchair, grey hair, sagging everything, wrinkles, being close to death, losing my poor boy if i marry him.

Most of all losing my loved ones but besides the obvious, physically not being able to do things anylonger. Walking, playing, bending, DRIVING, seeing, hearing.

Senility, alzheimers, and losing loved ones are my biggest worries. Then comes the stupid stuff, like getting all manly from losing estrogen and wrinkles and gray hair. Everyone seems worried about losing their body, and not being able to lose weight any more, but I at 19 have a crappy body and can't lose weight already, so I'm extra scared about putting on more pounds and looking worse in the coming years.

I am scared to think about all of the regrets I may one day have. This is assuming that I make it to "old age". I have a very hedonistic lifestyle that I'm sure will catch up to me one day... But then again, that is the point- I'm trying to make this ride as brief and satisfying as possible. Unfortunately, most people cannot experience every single thing they wish to in their lifetime, and this is what I may have trouble dealing with when aging hits.

I would have to say losing family members, i dont care about the wrinkles because you can take care of your skin now so its not so horrible later, the women in my family dont go grey, and you can prevent alot of the "sag" by keeping active..look at Tina Turner! I dread the day my mom passes away, i cant even fathom being without her

Dementia of any kind. A lot of things about getting older scare me, but the idea of actually losing my mind...I can't imagine how terrifying and frustrating that must be. And I think it would be just as bad if my fiance got it instead of me. Seriously terrifying.

what scares me the most is not being happy or at least ok with it. I am still young so I can't put myself in that frame of mind, but I see older people sometimes trying really hard to act younger (in a inappropriate way not a cool way) and it is sad to see those people not embracing their age. I think there is a way to embrace your age, own it, yet not succumb to old fashioned standards about older people. Does that make sense? So I hope to be one of those people that embraces their age rather than is ashamed of it. I know a few cool people in their 40's and 50's (my mom being one of these) that makes me think, wow! I hope I am like that, they make it look so great!!!

I am worried about being a social outcast as much older people become once they hit a certain age. People don't pay attention or really care. Also, losing people around me, especially my sisters and uncle/aunt. (we are all similar in age)
