Do Tell: What's Your Sad Song?

Do Tell: What's Your Sad Song?

I’m not sure if it’s a personality trait or a female trait, but sometimes when I’m sad or feeling down, I really like to embrace it; it can feel really good just to cry it out. When I’m in one of these moods, there’s nothing I’d rather do than put on a great sad song and just let it all out. I actually have a go to list of songs for just that occasion, like Peter Gabriel "Don't Give Up" or Lauryn Hill's "Ex-Factor." Am I alone on this or do you do it too? And if you do, do tell, what's your sad song?

"Rootless Tree" and "Lonelily", Damien Rice; "X-Ray Eyes", Guster; "Brilliant Disguise", Bruce Springsteen "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" and "Asleep", The Smiths, "Tiny Vessels", Death Cab "A Body Goes Down", Duncan Sheik (about Jeff Buckley, who's on the comments list more than once) "Mexico", Incubus "Corner of Your Heart", Ingrid Michaelson I have a whole playlist - with a little help from an application called Moody (though that may just be for Mac) where you can label songs as you listen to them on iTunes for their relative energy and mood, and www.musicovery.com, where they will give you songs on the same criteria, from the genres you choose and time period.

Absolutely, I go to the same song every time! The song Demons by Guster. Ah...makes me bawl! Also Kelly Clarkson has some pretty good ones on her latest CD My December. Music makes me so emotional even when I'm not having a bad day. :-)
