Do Tell: Who Do You Dress For?

It's an ongoing debate — whether women dress to impress men or other women. According to the May issue of Glamour magazine, 83 percent of women polled said they actually dress to impress themselves! Sure, if the guy likes the outfit, that's an added bonus, but I'm curious to know if you do the same. Tell me ladies, who do you dress for?

Mostly myself! But, I won't deny that the type of occasion or setting would have an influence. I try to be considerate of others & not overdress or underdress. I would hope that a romantic interest would be attracted to me for who I am, not what I wear. I mayl be more inclined to wear something if I knew he liked it, unless it's just a look that I'm dead set against.

me, im very unique and stylish/ sexy in almost a girlish tomboy mix of a way, i like to dress differently depending on how i feel, if its not something I feel good in or something that expresses who i am or what mood im in then i dont feel comfortable wearing it or feel good about myself in it.

I dress in whatever is comfortable and looks OK? I guess I dress partly for my service users as I'm in their homes and out on visits. I don't dress to impress, though. =)

Hahaha, ditto simplyfab87 :-) My "look-good" shirts are for Fridays or when I'm going out/going to see a lot of people... otherwise, it's whatever is easiest :-P

When I'm dressing for myself, like when I go to uni, I dress how I am most comfortable. I'm not there to catch anyone's eye, I'm there to study. When I'm going out with my man however, if he doesn't think I'm the sexiest thing in the room then theres something wrong! So a lot more effort goes into my outfit then.

When my fella comments positively on something I wear, I definitely take note and wear whatever he comments on more frequently. But ultimately...it's all about me. Fashion-wise, at least.

Myself. When I feel I look good I'm more confident and comfortable. Confidence is attractive to almost everyone. So, if I feel like I look good, other people might not like my outfit, but chances are they'll like the way I hold myself.

Me, of course. But while I never dressed differently because of anyone else, I tended to put a little more thought into my outfits when I used to spend more time around women. Then I chose to study in a field dominated by men (like, 90% men!) and I'm more relaxed about it now... I dress the same way, but since there's very few girls around, I never feel like I'm not as well-dressed, nor dolled up enough or anything like that...

I dress mostly for myself. I like to look nice and be comfortable. My husband will occasionally give his input on my fashion choices: "Those heels look sexy!" and "That shirt really makes your boobs look great", but any input from him is just icing on the cake. Of course, when I go to work and am wearing scrubs and look totally schlumpy, I'm not really dressing for anyone, LOL. I'm just dressing to be comfortable.

Uh...I don't dress for anyone, including myself. When I do have to "dress it up", it's more to conform to the social situation - nobody wants to be the underdressed one at a semi-formal event. It's not to impress, just to not be called out for not following the social code.

I dress for myself. Occasionally I'll wear something because I know my husband likes the way I look in it, but he always likes how I look no matter what I'm wearing lol.

Without a doubt, for me. Likewise, I wear pretty underclothes (bras and panties) for me, too. That's how I like to dress myself. Because my husband happens to me married to me, he gets to enjoy it, too. LOL :)

Definitely for myself. People here where I'm from go to stores in a way I wouldn't dress to go to my mailbox. I almost always end up over-dressed here, but I'd rather be that way then trashy.

I dress for myself, but I am also one of those who probably doesn't impress anyone with her wardrobe! ;0) It is nice when the things you wear bring compliments, but I don't wear things specifically for that reason.

Also, sometimes it is good to find out why he does/doesn't like something! For example: "That makes you look pregnant." (and I'm not!) or "Your legs look really sexy in those pants." (Yippee!)

I tend to dress for myself. However, if I know that there is something particular that my hubby just doesn't like (or vise versa--does like) I will/will not wear it. :)
