I think the one year after the wedding is okay to send thank you cards is wrong. Can't imaged waiting that long to send a thank you card.

There's a great Curb Your Enthusiasm episode where Larry and his wife try to give a wedding gift after the one-year mark, which is really the only reason I know that rule!

This would be great to win. I disagree with the few who said a year to send a gift is too long. I've always read this: "It has been written that one has up until a full year after the wedding to send a wedding gift, but this is truly pushing it. Gifts should be sent no later than three months after the wedding, and to even wait this long can be considered rude. "

I've been to many out of town weddings and never even got a thank you.

Well I sure disagree with that. So a gay friend with a SO who isn't married cant come? Or my co-habitating friends of 8 years? Or if I have two single friends I should rule them out? Case by case is the best way to go unless you have a guess list of 300!
