Sounds like a great idea. I wonder if the people chosen get a chance to ask questions? Stef, who do you want to bid on?

Liked my idea better: raffling off rich people.

I think a lottery for state dinners is a cool idea. How cool would that be for an average joe to have a chance to be there.

Clarification: You get to enter your name online and then they will chose a few regular citizens to attend. I highly doubt they'll charge for the chance to enter! :)

"Front Page: White House Plans Public Lottery For State Diners" So, after a State Dinner, I'll be able to bid on someone who was there?

How much do the lottery tickets cost? Is it $1,000 per ticket, which can go to the "Re-elect Obama" fund?

re: the economic figures. Does this mean that Obama is going to rework his budget?

"CNN and two other major TV networks fired up their split-screen technology, showing on one side the president joking with White House reporters just before the Christmas holiday -- and on the other the sober images of flag-draped military caskets being carried ceremoniously by honor guards across the tarmac at Dover." CNN and the two other networks should be ashamed of themselves. I am all for a lift on the ban, as long as the families give permision. * I think that alot of other newspapers will be shutting down, I hope there isnt talk of bailing any out....its just the sign of the times and the age of the internet.
