Good Idea or Bad Idea: "Booty Caller"

Good Idea or Bad Idea: "Booty Caller"

Tracking your period can be a nuisance, especially if you're forgetful, but don't fret because the folks at BabyCenter.com are here to help. Their genius Booty Caller is a free text message service that will alert you three times per month, letting you know when you're most fertile and offering up other helpful fertility advice. If you're trying not to get pregnant, use this information as a reminder to be extra careful with your birth control during ovulation.

The "Booty Caller" can alleviate one of your monthly worries, so ladies, tell me, do you think this free service is a good idea or a bad idea?

I guess it's a good idea but I can't see myself ever depending on something like that.

HAHA I went to the site and it gives examples of the texts they'd send you: "Today is your last fertile day! If you get pregnant during this cycle, your due date will be on or around 6.25.2009." I would not want this as an aid to my birth control method. Imagine your boyfriend or whomever seeing that text when you are not trying to get pregnant! It's cute for those couples that are having a difficult time conceiving though!

It's a good idea if you're trying to get pregnant, but for preventing it? I think I'll stick to good old contraceptives thank you!

I wanted to add though, that I don't use that as a birth control method though, nor do I think this service suggests you do.

I get emails with the same info from www.mymonthlycycles.com

LoL...and what happens when there's an error in the service and it misstells you when you're ovulating...and you end up pregnant when it wasn't your intention, then what? Hahaha... Who's paying for it anyway...there's no such thing as free in this world.

The fact that it's called "booty caller" has peaked my interest. I will have to investigate.

wierd name...but it is kind of cool I guess but I wouldn't rely on that solely to prevent babies!

I feel like the only people who would trust this, would be those who see those ads " TEXT 5-5-6-5-6 AND SEE IF YOU AND YOUR BOYFRIEND WILL GET MARRIED AND BE HAPPY FOR EVER!!" and think they actually work, and then text them and get charged obscene amounts of money to text names to some fake company.
