Handle This: He Only Dates on a Schedule

A couple months ago you started dating a guy that you met through an online site. He’s kind, intelligent, and funny, and though you haven’t had sex yet, the making out has been great so far. But he doesn’t ever seem like he wants to take it further. Stranger still, he refuses to see you other than Wednesday nights and Saturdays due to his "hectic schedule." You completely understand the demands of work, but after two months this seems really inexplicable. You have another Wednesday night date planned tonight, so how do you handle this?

I would tell him to go home to fis significant other. Then I would tell him to lose my number and forget that we had met.

well, i have had really odd schedules where I could only do things on certain days, but not for a really, really long period of time.. a couple weeks or something when I was working a job with varying hours. That is really weird though after a while.. For all you know he could be telling his other girlfriend or wife that he is playing ball hockey or something. Definitely juggling. Also, holla @ the other girl who noticed the chins before the question!!!

I dated a guy like that. After 5 months it just got to be too odd. I ended it then soon after found out that he was dating 8 other girls! I guess I should have been flattered that I got 2 nights a week:) I still think he was gay though (he had ugg flip flops, need I say more?) and trying to over compensate.

I've been in the same situation. I realize in the beginning it's hard enough to make time to hang out during the week that you don't want to do it for someone you still don't know/care about that much yet. However, if it's been more than 3/4 dates I start asking where it's going. I make it clear that if they can't make more time for me then it's just not going to work out.

Um, no. I don't date workaholics and I don't date cheaters. I'm an all or nothing woman.

I can see how someone with a lot on their plate with only a few hours a week to spare would do this, if they're working all day and need nights to continue working or have alone time.. but after it started to get more serious, I'd need him to make more time for me. Making time to be together is really important in any relationship, really. It can't always be ONLY those nights.

I would move on. I would think he was cheating on his wife or girlfriend with me, if it seems the only night he is available if is his significant other if busy that night.

I would consider myself "the other woman" and move on. Cheating loser.

I would probably become suspicious that he was married/already in a relationship.

I could see being understanding of this in the begining, but if things didnt start progressing, I would start to worry. I might even just show up on an "unsceduled night" with a bottle of wine and some delicious food, just to see how he would react. If he got all huffy and puffy about it, I would probably consider finding a new date. If he was cool about it and welcomed the change of pace then, yay!
