i second SusanTeufel! haha... I had a very brutal breakup with my ex of 6 years... and just about three weeks later.. I met my current boyfriend of 2.5 years on my birthday! :) I guess the question would be if you are actively looking.. or if you're just waiting. In my case, I wasn't looking for a new boyfriend.. I almost swore men off forever.. LOL.. but I met someone who matched me well.. and we're still happy. :)

I had a bad breakup in January. Got together with somebody quite quickly who turned out to be a douche bag. Then took a chance soon after with my ex's best friend. He's the love of my life and we're blissfully happy together. The heart heals sooner than you think given the right circumstances...

Just take it slow and don't look a gifthorse in the mouth. I like Fallen's advice to let him know...

That's such a cute story GlowingMoon! I hope this happens to me, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I had a bad break up 2 weeks ago, and I'm turning 21 on Sunday. That means more going out and meeting people! :D I'm excited.

I'm with Chicobo -- go for it. Full steam ahead. In my opinion, this situation is a gift. Accept it, and be appreciative. The timing could not be better. ;) :) I knew someone who met the love of his life two weeks AFTER his divorce was finalized. It was really random -- he was hiking on a hill, and so was she, and their paths crossed. They ended up marrying, and are still, very happy together.

It really is the best way to get over someone else! If you're really into him, then maybe this is a good thing. I started dating my bf a few weeks after a year long relationship, and now we've been together for 5. You never know...

This happened to me once, it is the BEST way to get over a break-up haha. Just go with the flow, let him know you're fresh out of a relationship so if he sees anything weird he can blame it on that haha.

I have nowhere to stand when people ask me if it's too soon. The day after I broke up with my boyfriend of 4 1/2 years - I started dating my fiance ^-^;; I say go for it, myself.

I wish that happened to me! I'm going on 3 months after a brutal breakup. I would go for it- if it didn't work out, it would be easier to deal with than the ex. And I'll have had a little fun!

this is how me & my most recent ex got together & even though we broke up after a year & a half, it was a really good experience. he helped me to be able to trust people again after the last ex hurt me so badly. so, if this were to present itself again, i'd just take it slow & see how things went. if you're really into a guy, it won't matter if you've just gotten out of a relationship.

I've been in this situation before. I definitely advise taking things slow. Sometimes you think you really like someone, but realize later (or too late) that you jumped into the relationship for the wrong reasons. Leading to yet more heartbreak.
