50 Things You Need to Do For a Relationship to Last

Have You Ever Had to Choose Sides?

Last night's episode of The Hills sure didn't disappoint in the drama department, but I'm still surprised that Audrina semi-befriending Heidi wasn't made into a bigger deal than it was. I think it's been an unspoken assumption that LC's friends had to pick a side in the Heidi-LC war, but Audrina didn't skip a beat when presented with the opportunity to be chummy again with Heidi. Though LC didn't have the reaction I thought she'd have, I can only assume that their reunion will cause quite a rift in their already rocky friendship. Of course, feeling like you have to pick one friend over another is a tough position to be in, but I have a feeling some of you can relate. So tell me, have you ever had to choose sides between arguing friends?

i've never been in that situation, but i have put some of my friends in that situation, but not intentionally. i had a falling out with one of my friends, but he still remained friends with my group of friends and though we weren't friends anymore, i never put my larger group of friends in the situation where they had to choose between us. people are different and we all relate and get along with different people and there's nothing wrong with that. making your friends choose sides is wrong because as long as they still care about you and are a good friend to you then that's what matters.

No I haven't had to do this since high school, why can't these girls grow up?

yea they are acting way too young! i simply didn't choose. when two of my best friends ended their friendship i told them both that i was still friends with both of them and they'd just have to accept that. and they did. why? because we actually act our age- as adults and not children!

i do my best not to get in the middle of fights between friends since it's never going to end up well. i think that if you choose sides you're saying that you don't want to be friends with someone because someone else doesn't and if you're not able to make your own decision then it's just not a smart thing.

It depends on the situation and really comes down to whom you are truly loyal to. If the answer is both, then you better try to just stay out of it!

Not between two girls really. I had to choose between two friends who were dating but the girl was my best friend and the guy was a newer friend. Plus, he didn't want me to pick his side because he didn't want to ruin our friendship. I ended up picking neither of them instead of getting in the middle of it.

Heidi needs to get a grip and stop blaming Lauren for their friendship falling apart when it was clearly Spencer's fault. This kind of stuff is bullshit, these girls are 21 and 22. Theyre not 15/16 anymore, they need to get over themselves and highschool.

Matter of fact, we were more mature in high school too... shameful.

And this I why I could never stand these types of shows... I'm too grown. Even Sex in the City is too immature for me I'm only mid 30's but still, it all seems so ridiculous.

i haven't been put in any situations like that in a veryyy long time. the people in the hills all still act like they are in high school. its pretty ridiculous. i mean i understand its a show and it is pretty entertaining to watch (which is why they do the things they do) but its not real life for the most part. they are all so petty and ridiculous its hard to see any of these things happening in real life. theres situations where people don't get a long and there is conflicts in social groups but for the most part its not realistic to think things that happen on the hills happens everyday in real life because it just doesnt.

I honestly try not to. I tell them that it's between them and I don't what any part of their drama. Luckily, we're all grown and we stopped acting like this in High School. :p
