I know what you're saying Uptown Girl. At the same time Natalie Holloway went missing, a young black girl went missing as well. Even though people tried to gain exposure for the black girl, stressing that young white girls shouldn't be the only ones getting national coverage, it soon fizzled out. I still don't know what happened with that case, but EVERYONE knows what happened in Natalie's case. Heck, she was on Oprah the other day - her mother that is. I hope this girl is found, and hell, if the color of her skin is what gets her found, then good for her. But still.

Again, for the record, I was just trying to raise awarness for the MANY people who have friends & family missing. I really don't want to draw attention away from this sad case. I really hope she is found safe & alive, just like I do for ANY missing person regardless of race or socioeconomic background.

People should care about people no matter the color creed or background any young woman missing has a family friends and people who love them. The focus should be on getting her home safely!!I saw an interview last night and the doors of where she was staying were all unlocked and glass doors you could see through. It sent chills through me and I hope her family is blessed with her safe return!!

To clear these ridiculous comments up, I sent this story in. I did it not because she is young, beautiful and white, I did it because she is cared about. It is because her friends and her family and the community have made it so. We have contacted everyone we know and sent bulletins through every network imaginable, sent e-mails, posted flyers. You name it, it's been done. The more people who are informed of her disappearance, the better chance that we get her back safely. Absolutely... all victims have the right to equal coverage. So let's forget for a moment that Bri is young, beautiful, or white. Every single person is of value, including Bri. Brianna's national coverage is the direct result of the many lives she has touched!!!

@uptown_girl, ITA! That entire issue came up during the Natalee Holloway situation. I mean, yeah they're missing, give them some press, but it's not fair to go so above and beyond what you would do for any other missing person. And it's also the fact that Caucasians most likely would throw a huge stink and get the media to put them on(I'm not saying this is bad, this is just the facts), and it would be more effective than a minority family carrying on in the same manner because the producers/whoever picks which stories to air are mostly Caucasian. Therefore they sympathize more with their own race. I'm not saying that this is bad or good, again, so don't everyone jump on me now, it's just the facts. I actually heard a psychologist say that on the news-- the producers call the shots, and there just aren't that many minorities doing that job.

Considering the facts that the demographics of both Reno and Santa Barbara are comprised of less than 5% African American combined, I am not at all surprised that this young woman is most likely Caucasian or Latina.

I realize I sounded harsh. I do this girl is found alive & ok. It breaks my heart when I hear stories of people disappearing, I just wanted to point out that MANY people & children disappear everyday, but it's the WHITE ATTRACTIVE FEMALES that get the most press.

...And because she's young, white, & pretty we are supposed to care. Now, if she were black or hispanic, & from a seemingly less affluent background, would we?
