How Long Do You Wait to Travel Together?

Long-term loves may choose to travel apart, but everything is intoxicating in a new relationship and couples never want to part. After all, vacation sex is the best sex. Some people are cautious — worried that too much too soon could ruin a good thing — while others will drop everything to travel. How long would you say is a safe wait?

We we were together about 6 months, and then a pretty spontaneous trip to Europe happened. We weren't alone though, we met up with his cousin who had been studying in Barcelona that semester.

Ha. Our first date was a spontaneous trip to Vegas. Awesomeness ensued, we're still dating 6 months later.

I agree that it depends on the seriousness of the relationship. Some couples may be serious after a month and some not until closer to a year. Personally, my husband I took our first trip together after three months of dating.

It depends on your relationship. If I'm in the getting-to-know-you face, I will wait until things are more serious. It depends on the person and relationship. There shouldn't be rules for that.

my boyfriend & i took a road trip to the grand canyon a month & a half after we started dating. something like 28 hours together in the car plus motel stays & stops along the way gave us a LOT of time to talk & get to know each other better.

I spent a summer traveling with my boyfriend a few months after getting together. I really got to know him well, seeing him in stressful situations, us almost missing trains, me getting sick once, etc, and we had lots of fun moments, seeing amazing sights, trying new things, and ofcourse vacation sex =) If a relationship can't survive traveling, and a few stressful situations, it isn't going to last anyway.
