How Often Do You Talk to Your Significant Other?

Do You and Your SO Talk Every Day?

We had a Group Therapy post in our TrèsSugar Community inquiring about how much communication should be expected in a relationship. Is not hearing from your BF for more than 24 hours a warning sign that the relationship is fizzling? I would think in a healthy, committed relationship you'd at least discuss ahead of time if one person would be too busy or unreachable for more than a day. After all, spending some time apart can be good for a relationship, as long as neither partner is left in the dark. Or maybe you're the kind of couple who likes to have your own lives, and talking every other day or every few days is the norm.

So I'm curious, whether it's by phone, text, email, or instant message, do you communicate in some form or another every day with your fella? Or in your relationship, is it typical to go a day or more without chatting?

Well I live with my guy so yes, I see him every day! And we talk online while we're at work. But in past relationships, when I didn't live with someone and wasn't online as much, it wouldn't be weird to go a day or two without contact.

if you live together and don't talk everyday; HUGE red flag. things like staying late at the office (or whatever) to avoid the face-to-face time is a bad, bad sign. i would think that the more contact you had, the stronger your bond. wouldn't you? i know not everyone can call when they are at work, but seems like the more you reach out during the day the greater the bond/connection.

I think in this day and age it's very hard to avoid contact almost 24/7. Between cell phones, texting, Facebook, email, facetime, ichat, etc. it's so easy to have the contact... so why not? My boyfriend and I are very tech savvy, so if I don't hear from him and its like 7pm at night, I get a little nervous since that's strange for us. And its not just a bf/gf thing, I'm in constant (to an extent, of course) contact with everyone. I'm enjoying the 21st century.

I have to say, yes. We just get along so great. I can tell it bothers some people, though. Hubby will phone me at work and a certain co-worker will be like, "Don't you see him all day already?" I don't see that much of a problem. It'd be way worse if we couldn't stand each other, right?
