How Are You Different From Your Dad?

Although I'm a daddy's girl, my father and I have our fair share of differences, too. Our political beliefs couldn't be more opposite and while I like to think I handle stress well, he cannot take the heat! We may not agree to disagree all the time, but it's our differences that make our similarities all the more special.

So what about you? How are you different from your dad?

My father and I bump heads a lot because we are so much alike. Everything has to go his way. It's aggravating!! He's a wonderful man and loves me unconditionally but he doesn't know when to let go. Plus, its hard being the only girl in a hispanic family. :o)

I'm a lot like my father. The area we really differ is that he was more willing to let things slide than I am. I'll let things go a bit, but he wasn't confrontational at all and I can be if the situation calls for it.

My father and I share a lot of bad habits. Quick temper, biting nails, etc. Not to say that my father isn't awesome!

My Dad is a bitter person. I'm not. Also, he's very unforgiving. I tend to forgive.

There are many more similarites than differences between my dad and I, but I am definitely more sensitive than him (sometimes overly so). And impatient!

I have always been a daddy's girl and everyone that says I am exactly like him. For starters, we look very similar (one of my sisters looks like my mom and my other sister looks like a mixture between my parents). We also tend to be introverts and don't like to draw attention to ourselves. On the other hand, my dad is very impatient and he isn't very open with his emotions, while I wear my heart on my sleeve and I am patient most of the time. However, we are both big worriers and are easily stressed (which is not a good combination) although I tend to keep calm in a crisis.

My dad doesn't like to show his emotions or talk about tough situations. I am the complete opposite. He is also very good in crisis and always knows how to put people at ease (particularly when someone is sick or someone has died) and I'm not. I feel uncomfortable then so he can do all the talking!

My dad and I share our sense of humor, love of music, but he is an alcoholic and since my parents divorce he has not put family first, where I put family before everything.

I'm very emotional, you can ready my emotions on my face so easily. I have a temper, am very ambitious as far as work. My dad is none of these things.

My dad is ridiculously laid back. Always, "we'll deal with that later..." or "it's find" or "we'll figure it out..." and I am SUCH a planner.

He gets very grumpy when his routine is messed up. I'm a little more able to roll with the punches... And he lets his job get to him a lot more than I do. Otherwise, we're pretty similar.

He is emotionless and very very work related. I am a hard worker but my family comes first.

My dad's VERY quiet, hardly ever speaks, never voices his opinion. That's a major difference between us.

One of the things I share with my dad is punctuality. I hate being late. Being on time is the same as being late to me. One of the major differences is that he's very well organized and I am...well...not the same way. LOL!
